The design of the new Viteazul service station, located in the center of Chisinau in Moldova, starts from the concept of revolutionizing the aesthetics and functionality of the service stations of the Bemol brand in this country.
Our idea was to create a place where the customer, passing through to refuel, wanted to stop and stay longer, to appreciate the services of the cafe that is inside the station, instead of the usual fleeting use that characterizes this category of buildings.
In order to obtain a warm and welcoming place, we decided to mix some of the typical style parameters of the mechanical workshops with those typical of the houses, conceptually characterized by a large roof that welcomes and protects the patrons and also by a warm atmosphere, colours and materials.
The elements such as iron, the large windows taken from the car workshops, are then combined with the use of exposed brick façade, with a large and extending roof and with the chimney that becomes a landmark and emphasizes the “habitative” character of the building.
Confirming the fact that architecture has achieved its purpose, a short time after the opening, our client has confirmed us that people go there even just to exclusively frequent the café or the market.
